Publication Ethics
Convivium: Journal of Religious and Cultural Studies (JRCS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal adheres to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher—to observe the following principles:
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
-
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, free of plagiarism, and not under consideration elsewhere.
-
All sources and references must be properly cited.
-
All individuals who contributed significantly to the research must be acknowledged.
-
Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
-
If significant errors are discovered after publication, authors must promptly notify the editor to issue corrections or retractions.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
-
Editors must make publication decisions based on the academic merit of the manuscript, regardless of the authors' race, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, or political views.
-
Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
-
Editors should ensure a fair, transparent, and objective peer-review process.
-
Editors are responsible for investigating ethical complaints seriously and thoroughly.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
-
Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.
-
Reviewers should not use the content of submitted manuscripts for personal gain.
-
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting or declining a review request.
4. Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher
-
The publisher must ensure the editorial process operates independently and without commercial influence.
-
The publisher collaborates with editors to address ethical concerns and maintain the journal’s academic integrity.
